NEWSLETTER - DECEMBER 2017 "Poker is a skill game pretending to be a chance game." - James Altucher

[Replay Poker Newsletter]( NEWSLETTER - DECEMBER 2017 "Poker is a skill game pretending to be a chance game." - James Altucher Howdy {NAME}! The holly, jolly holiday season is upon us, and we’ve stocked the month of December with plenty of festive fun for all! We have a special [North Pole]( entry in our World Wonder Tour, just for the season! And then, it’s the most wonderful time of the year with our Santa’s Christmas Festival! There are five different promotions in the festival, and plenty of gifts to go around for players who are on the nice list this year. Player of the Month [Player of the Month]( getting chilly, but a friendly face can help keep you warm this winter! December's Player of the Month is a stand-out in the American League as both a great player and a gregarious person: Meet Priscilla, aka [MaineCats]( Priscilla is currently retired, but stays busy by running an AirBnB and working as a crossword puzzle constructor. She has a few passions outside of poker, but perhaps her biggest is a very big cat breed ... Maine Coons! Check out her profile to see a picture of her current kitty, Henry. After playing poker for money, Priscilla determined that it was a bit too intense for her. She discovered Replay Poker, and now she finds the hobby much more relaxing. "I love the way people say "nh" and "wp" and "ty." There is a graciousness about the site I find very relaxing and I really enjoy getting to know other players and their squirrels and interests." Jump into an American League game around 8 or 9 p.m. ET to join Priscilla at the tables! She offers this advice for players who want to improve their poker game: "The great lesson I have learned is patience. Not that I always practice it - but I have learned from all the successful higher-ranked players on RP it is the key to success. Don't bet bad hands, don't chase and don't get emotionally attached to hands you know are losers. Above all, have fun!" Promotions Recap WWT – The Eiffel Tower From November 6th until November 12th, our Eiffel Tower Satellite Tournaments awarded 4 million chips in leaderboard prizes and our outstanding participants had their performance in knockouts and ticket earnings count towards two exclusive leaderboards. C'était magnifique! Thanksgiving Ring Game Madness During the week of Thanksgiving, from November 20th through November 26th, we offered our first ever Ring Game competitions on Replay Poker! Players were treated to the chance to win a share of 5 million free chips by placing in the Top 50 on one of our 6 different leaderboards. Feast your eyes and join us in saying congratulations to our winners: [The Duck Pond]( – [wantanewv12v]( [Connemara Lake]( – [MORRISS66]( [Amazonian Forest]( – [morcosborcos]( Bust the Staff! In our November Bust the Staff! tournament challenge, it was our Head of Volunteers, [wordy1]( who made a valiant effort until [sammymorgan]( collected the 50K bounty and eliminated her in 31st place. Registration is open for our next Bust the Staff taking place on Thursday, December 21st. Make sure you sign up, and we'll see you at the tables! Upcoming Promotions Ready your sleigh and your reindeer, because we’re headed to the [North Pole]( Our [World Wonder Tour]( is taking a detour this month to Santa’s workshop. Santa Claus is coming to town, and he’s bringing plenty of holiday happiness with our Santa’s Christmas Festival! The festival starts on December 11th and includes the following five festive games: Santa’s Stunning SnGs - 18-player knockout SnGs with knockout and tournament point leaderboards. Join us for even more [fun and exclusive tournaments]( News & Updates Forum Topic of the Month Are you a music fan? What gets you amped up while you play poker? In one of our most popular and long-lasting forum threads, started by our own [MrReplay]( we ask you: [What are you listening to now?]( Share your favorite tunes so your fellow players can check out some great new music while they sit at the tables! Did You Know? In celebration of the season, let’s talk about “snowing!” In lowball draw poker games, “snowing” occurs when you stand pat with a bad hand. This tricks the rest of the table into thinking you have a strong hand, when really you’re bluffing and hoping that everyone else folds. Brrrr, that’s cold! Finally... Happy Holidays from all of us here at Replay Poker. Thank you for being a member of our awesome community and for sharing your play time with us!
