COVID-19 Vaccine Survey Insights surveyed tens of thousands of people about their COVID 19 Vaccine experiences. Here is what we found out so far (more coming soon): Approximately 80% of those surveyed they will likely or definitely get the COVID-19 vaccine, including those who already have. When asked about their top concerns, 50% of those reluctant to get vaccinated thought the vaccine was too new. The most commonly noted side effect by those receiving a first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine was pain at the injection site. Let us know your thoughts about the COVID vaccine. In celebration of the both of these, Inspire wanted to spotlight two famous African American heart surgeons who’ve made their mark in the medical field: [Dr. Myra Adele Logan]( - In 1943, she became the first woman to perform open heart surgery in the ninth operation of its kind performed anywhere in the world. - The first African American woman elected a fellow of the American College of Surgeons - Instrumental in the development of antibiotics, including Aureomycin - Worked on early detection and treatment of breast cancer [Dr. Daniel Hale Williams III]( - The first African American cardiologist who performed the first successful open heart surgery. - Helped found the Provident Hospital and Training School for Nurses, reportedly the first U.S. hospital with a racially integrated staff. - Helped establish the National Medical Association, a professional organization for African Americans in medicine. --------------------------------------------------------------- [member_image]( [WomenHeart #29DaysofHeart]( This month, our partner WomenHeart is celebrating both Black History Month and Heart Month by helping to uplift the voices of Black women.
