Hello, I’m Anthony Smith - the CEO of Insightly. I’m writing to give you an update on the changes that were made over the weekend to our product around contacts and organizations. I would like to start off with my sincere apology and let you know that I have heard from a lot of you, and personally answered a lot of your emails. I understand that you may be frustrated with some of the changes that were made, with the lack of notice given to you around those changes, and that you feel that Insightly has lost some of your trust. We should have done a better job of letting you know ahead of time what we were planning to do and when to expect the changes. Here is what we are going to do to try and make this right for you. We’re introducing a new tool into the product this week built so that you can save the data you currently have as ‘Additional Information’ notes into new custom fields that will be searchable, reportable, and visible on the details pages of both contacts and organizations in just a couple of clicks. The tool will add these custom fields for you at no cost, and no matter what pricing plan you are on, and move your data into them automatically. We’re also introducing a new type of custom field for email addresses that will enable you to add multiple email addresses to contacts and organizations, and when saving emails to Insightly will make sure we link those emails to the correct records every time, reducing the problem of new contact creation when emails are saved with different email addresses for the same contact. Finally, the Engineering team this afternoon shipped a new build of the product that fixed several bugs introduced over the weekend around reporting and email authoring, and tomorrow we will be releasing another fix for API issues. Again, I sincerely apologize to you for any frustration the changes we made have caused. We are working hard to win back your trust and we will update the page below on our knowledge base throughout the week with progress on the fixes and releases as they happen.
