mlns='> A new way to test your content marketing mettle. [View Message in Browser]( / [Add Us to Safe Sender List]( [Content Marketing Institute]( Daily News and Alert 10.16.23 Connect with CMI Hi there, What do you think of when you hear “chimney sweep?” Does the song Chim-Chim-Cher-ee suddenly start playing? It does for many people. To elevate the profession beyond the beloved but decidedly low-tech Bert from Mary Poppins, the National Chimney Sweep Guild (where I worked early in my career) developed a rigorous training program and a credential for its graduates: Certified Chimney Safety Professional. So, I wasn’t surprised by the many people who told us they wished CMI offered a certification program when we did an audience survey earlier this year. I couldn’t tell you then, but now the news is out. CMI teamed up with the American Marketing Association to create a content marketing certification program. It’s an extended version of Content Marketing University that ends with a certification exam. AMA CEO Bennie Johnson announced the program at Content Marketing World, saying it would offer “not only validation but verification” of your content marketing know-how. The education modules will ensure you’re up to date on all the strategies, approaches, and tactics for making an impact with content marketing. The certification tells clients, colleagues, and employers that you didn’t just pick up a broom keyboard and dance down the street declaring yourself a content marketer. You’ve gotten your hands dirty (metaphorically) and learned the ins and outs. [Sign up to get notified]( when the AMA Professional Certified Marketer®(PCM®) Content Marketingprogram officially opens. The news also prompted an interesting conversation in the CMWorld Slack Group about the value of certification to your career. ([Join the group here]( if you haven’t already.) I’d love to hear what you think of [certification, career paths, or anything else content marketing-related.]( Meanwhile, I hope you find these resources helpful this week.
