[View Message in Browser]( / [Add Us to Safe Sender List]( [Content Marketing Institute]( Daily News and Alert 6.12.23 Connect with CMI Hi there, Do you ever question whether you’re the right person for your role? If so, does that mean you have imposter syndrome – or are you just experiencing the temporary discomfort of building new skills as your career grows? The content marketers in CMI’s Slack group recently took on the questions of imposter syndrome vs. career growth. Something lovely happened (and it wasn’t the amusing conversation about the relative value of a content marketer with imposter syndrome vs. “donkeys with Dunning Kruger.”) First, several content marketers (including many who’ve led teams, spoken at conferences, and accomplished other impressive things) shared that they often question themselves. Then, they shared pep talks that would make Ted Lasso proud. Here’s a snippet of one from content marketing strategist, speaker, and writer Ali Orlando Wert: “Anyone could learn to do what you do...but they haven't! Anyone could put in the work and figure it out...but they haven't! You bring amazing experience and skills to the table, and you've earned the authority because you've put in the work. I hope you can reflect back on all those trials/errors that got you here and enjoy the amazing journey so far and what's to come.” So if you need words of encouragement to power you through the second half of the year, [sign up for the Slack group]( (it’s free) to [read the whole conversation.]( Then watch [Cadbury Dairy Milk’s new ad,]( which reflects how common those feelings are. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
