The Independent's Morning Headlines email [View online]( October 10, 2022 [Morning Headlines]( 1 / [Ukraine: Kyiv rocked by multiple explosions in most widespread set of Russian attacks since beginning of war]( Ukraine's capital Kyiv has been rocked by multiple explosions this morning in the most widespread set of Russian attacks since the early weeks of the war. Explosions have been heard and videoed in Kyiv, with more explosions reported all across the country. A number of people have been killed and injured in the attack on the capital, Ukrainian emergency services have said. Associated Press reported that the explosions seem to be the result of multiple missile strikes. The attack in the city follow further strikes overnight in the southern city of Zaporizhzhia and in the Dnipropetrovsk region. It comes after Vladimir Putin called the blast on a critical Crimea bridge an "act of terrorism" by Ukraine, in his first public response to the damage to Russia's vital artery to the annexed territory.   2 / [PM appoints Sunak ally in cabinet in bid to bridge Tory divide]( Greg Hands will replace Conor Burns in Department of International Trade 3 / [Donegal explosion: Girl, 5, and two teenagers among 10 killed in petrol station blast as all victims named]( Eight people were hospitalised after the ‘tragic accident’ in Creeslough, Ireland, with one still in a critical condition 4 / [Tory minister sacked 'after being seen touching young man's thigh in bar']( Conor Burns says he looks forward to clearing his name and will ‘fully cooperate’ with Tory investigation 5 / [Iran protests: ‘At least 185 people including 19 children’ killed during unrest]( Online videos claim to show minors and pregnant women being beaten by gangs of riot police     The Big Question How is British chicken destroying the Amazon?
