Bake Off's back: Become a star baker with these essentials

With a new cast member, Matt Lucas, the showed kicked off with a GBBO sketch of the prime minister’s confusing coronavirus updates. Albeit the first episode’s bakes – which looked more like wax works – may not have inspired you yet, but we’re sure the series will soon have you creating your own showstopper, so we’ve got the lowdown from [previous Bake Off contestants on everything you need to become a star baker](.
