INC. THIS MORNING Unusual pandemic productivity hacks Good morning, More meetings, more eye-straining screen time, more time spent sitting--remote work habits can make for exhausting days. And that’s on top of the whatever added stress the pandemic has introduced into your business. It can seriously disrupt your productivity if you’re not mindful. Recently, staff writer Kevin J. Ryan caught up with Afton Vechery, co-founder of home-fertility-test startup Modern Fertility. While many now have plenty of time on their hands for, well, fertility, Vechery is busier than ever. So she shared some of the unconventional ways she’s organizing her time. One of her simplest but most powerful tips? Start with the home screen of your cell phone. On Vechery’s iPhone, you’ll see only three apps: Calendar, Clock, and Notes. To access other apps, she has to manually search for them--an effective way, she says, to minimize distracting notifications. "As a founder, there's constantly something else you could be doing," she tells Ryan. "But when you have space to think through what you're working on, you're a better leader." Vechery’s other strategies range from hourlong bike rides to a particularly quirky way of watching TV shows. Intrigued? Check out Ryan’s story for [the tips you need to achieve an unexpected productivity edge](. And if you’ve discovered your own surprising pandemic productivity tips, I want to hear about them. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
