I was busy in meetings and trying to run my business all day. Maybe you were, too. But a lot of Americans skipped out of work to watch it all--or were at least distracted by the testimony--to the point where they almost needn't have bothered going to work at all. Anyway, that's the conclusion of a study by the outplacement consulting firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas, which concluded that lost productivity due to to people watching the hearings at work added up to $3.83 billion. "The nation is rapt," John Challenger, the firm's CEO, [told USA Today](. "Employers will find it difficult to reign in interested workers ... it will impact their teams' productivity.'' You probably don't need me to summarize the details of what Cohen had to say. You can find different takes [here]( and [here](. And I expect I'll get equal numbers of emails from readers later today saying "Cohen is a liar and a felon!" and "It was worth it to hear him call Trump a liar and a racist!" Welcome to 2019--I think we're going to see a lot more of this. You’d be smart to think about how it's going to affect your business.
