An interview with our Chief Quality Officer  ‌ ‌ ‌   An Epic So Big, It

An interview with our Chief Quality Officer  ‌ ‌ ‌   An Epic So Big, It Had to Come Back Missed Christopher Nolan's OPPENHEIMER the first time? Ready to experience the film in the format it was designed for? For one week, we're bringing OPPENHEIMER back to select IMAX screens. Find a showtime near you and catch one of award season's buzziest contenders.   Throwing it Back to the '70s IMAX has been a pioneer of 70mm film since the very beginning. Celebrate the format that made us famous and wear our new limited-edition 70MM Inc. collection. Inspired by the company that helped build IMAX’s 70mm legacy, it is now available, exclusively in the Fan Shop.   In Conversation with 70mm Pioneers & IMAX's Chief Quality Officers Our new limited-edition collection pays homage to 70MM inc., a company that made a big bet on 70mm film all the way back to the ‘70s. Founded by David and Patricia Keighley as the only company in the world to specialize solely in the post-production of 70mm film at the time, and later acquired by IMAX, it holds a special place in our history. Take it from David and Patricia themselves, who now act as IMAX’s Chief Quality Officers. Check out an excerpt below, then[head to Letterboxd for the full interview.]( We are bringing back the logo of 70MM Inc., a company you founded, with a limited-edition capsule collection. It’s no secret that IMAX fans are passionate for the format – during OPPENHEIMER’S initial run, they were selling out 7 and 8 am shows in some locations! How do you feel about this enthusiasm for the format and our legacy? IMAX 70mm film remains our biggest differentiator and it is gratifying to see audiences continue to respond so passionately. We heard several stories of fans who flew to another country to see OPPENHEIMER in one of the thirty 70mm IMAX film locations. You have worked on so many IMAX films, all truly unique and innovative. We know it must be a little like asking someone to pick a favorite child, but do you have a favorite project? There is never a single favorite film. They are all memorable in their own ways. Of course, OPPENHEIMER, but our documentaries propelled us to this point and influenced many filmmakers to explore the format. THE DREAM IS ALIVE, ROLLING STONES AT THE MAX, and HUBBLE 3D were all milestones. FANTASIA 2000, that started IMAX’s feature journey, the BATMAN trilogy, INTERSTELLAR and AVATAR have all been very important to the proliferation of the network around the world and audiences seeking the IMAX experience.   IMAX® is a registered trademark of IMAX Corporation [Twitter]( [Facebook]( [Instagram]( [TikTok]( [Letterboxd]( [unsubscribe]()
