Japan Protests Chinese Ship In Disputed Waters
Japan summoned the Chinese ambassador in Tokyo Thursday to express concern after a Chinese naval vessel sailed close to disputed islands in the East China Sea. Japan administers the uninhabited Senkaku islands that are also claimed by China, which calls them the Diaoyu islands. The incident was the first in which a Chinese military vessel entered, rather than passed close to, the disputed waters, which are home to significant oil and gas reserves and abundant fishing grounds.
Gunmen Kill 4 In Tel Aviv
Two Palestinian gunmen opened fire in a popular shopping and dining district in Tel Aviv on Wednesday, killing four people. Both suspects, said to be from the occupied West Bank, were apprehended. Israel suspended entry permits given to 83,000 Palestinians for Ramadan in the wake of the attack.

Had Nike dropped her, Sharapova would have lost anywhere between $70 million and $100 million.
