Investors will have a lot of information to digest Tuesday, as investment banking giant Goldman Sachs reports its first-quarter earnings before the markets open, and is expected to show a drop in profits for the period. Yahoo Inc., in the middle of an auction of its core assets, will also report Tuesday, as will America’s largest health insurer, UnitedHealth, and Big Pharma players Johnson & Johnson and Novartis.

Kerry To Meet Iranâs Foreign Minister
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry will meet with his Iranian counterpart, Mohammad Javad Zarif, in New York on Tuesday to discuss the implementation of the deal to curb Tehran's nuclear program, as well as ways the country might use its influence to end the civil war in Syria. High on the agenda will be Tehran's concerns about its difficulties accessing the international financial system, despite the lifting of some U.S. sanctions as part of the deal.

US Feels âFrustrationâ With Israeli Government: Biden
U.S. Vice President Joe Biden on Monday acknowledged the Obama administration's "overwhelming frustration" with the Israeli government, saying that the systemic expansion of Jewish settlements was moving Israel toward a dangerous "one-state reality." Biden said the U.S. had a duty to push for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, while acting as guarantor of Israel's security.
Death Toll From Ecuador Quake Rises
The number of fatalities from the magnitude-7.8 earthquake that struck Ecuador's pacific coast on Saturday has risen to 413, officials said, adding that over 2,500 people had been injured. Rescue efforts in the country are still ongoing, with three people rescued from the rubble of a collapsed shopping center on Monday, having spent over 30 hours trapped.
What Price The Death Penalty In China?
China has announced new rules governing the use of the death penalty in corruption cases, setting the threshold at 3 million yuan, or $463,000. Anyone found guilty of embezzlement or taking bribes of this amount or more — in what China’s top court called “extremely serious cases” that have an “extremely vile impact” — will face the death penalty, the official Xinhua News Agency reported.
PM's Aide Profited From 1MDB: Report
Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak’s close associate, Jho Low, netted hundreds of millions of dollars from his role in transactions at the state-run fund 1Malaysia Development Berhad, the Wall Street Journal reported Monday. The report said that Low spent lavishly, buying multimillion-dollar homes in New York and Los Angeles and $300 million worth of art. The corruption scandal at 1MDB has rocked Malaysia's political establishment, but Najib denies any wrongdoing.

A 9.54-carat diamond ring, once owned by “America's little darling,” movie star Shirley Temple, is up for auction at Sotheby’s in New York Tuesday. The cushion-cut Fancy Blue Diamond ring, which was presented to the child actress by her father in 1940, is expected to sell for $25 million to $35 million, according to auction house estimates.
King Of The Box Office Jungle
Disney's latest cinematic offering — a CGI and live-action production of “The Jungle Book” — is earning more than just the bare necessities in China, which is becoming an increasingly fertile market for animated U.S. blockbusters. The movie took over $50 million on its opening weekend in the country, following on from the success of “Zootopia,” which recently became both the highest-grossing animated film and Disney movie ever to play in China.
