[Hypedrive] November 24, 2023 Weekly Digest 👔The Acura Integra Type S Is the Tuner Culture's Car, Matured TLDR: For our latest Test Drive review, we took the Acura Integra Type S to its origins – Las Vegas’ annual haven for tuners and racers, SEMA.It was the perfect car for the drive, but not the perfect car by any means. Why It Matters: Acura rolled out the Integra Type S earlier this year to mixed reviews, most saying it’s too little too late, or blasphemous to add two additional doors – the Integra name has always been a coupe. Others were iffy about it, drawing too close of a comparison to the car to which it’s based: the Honda Civic Type R FL5. However, after we spent a good amount of time with it and drove 524 miles all the way from SoCal to Las Vegas in it, the Type S makes a lot of sense.Read the full article [here](. --------------------------------------------------------------- 🌴 Gunther Werks Opens Up Shop in Miami in Partnership with Prestige Imports TLDR: Gunther Werks, known for its specialization in restoring and modifying the Porsche 993 generation of the 911, is making its way to the East Coast and they have a new build to commemorate the expansion. Why It Matters: The Miami showroom – in partnership with Prestige Imports – will feature Gunther Werks’ array of limited-edition Porsche 911 restorations, including the newly unveiled 750-hp Touring Turbo Edition Coupe. Based on the classic Porsche 993 generation, the vehicle boasts a 4.0-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine and a six-speed manual transmission. As for style, its iconic ducktail rear spoiler and extensive carbon fiber bodywork reflect a perfect blend of classic design and modern engineering. But what sets the Huracán STO SC 10° Anniversario apart is its performance kit, a first for a road-legal vehicle from Lamborghini’s Squadra Corse. The kit enhances the car’s dynamic qualities and track performance, featuring two new front carbon fibre flicks on the bonnet and a rear wing set at a higher angle for increased downforce.Read the full article [here](. --------------------------------------------------------------- 💰 1988 Porsche 959 "Komfort" Sells For Over $1.7M USD at RM Sotheby's Vegas Auction TLDR: Results are in from RM Sotheby’s recent Las Vegas auction, among is the sale of a 1988 Porsche 959 “Komfort,” which realized $1,765,000 USD at the close. Why It Matters: The Porsche 959 was heralded as a technological marvel, with features that were advanced for the time: its all-wheel-drive system, adjustable suspension and monstrous power. The model was also sold as a "Komfort" trim, that included a full-leather interior as well as air conditioning, while maintaining the 959's 444 horsepower and 2.85L twin-turbo flat-six. The 1988 Porsche 959 Komfort has 23,399 kilometers – 14,540 miles approximated – and is in fantastic condition, with some patina and signs of age that shows the car has actually spent some time on the streets. This auctioned example is purportedly one of only 31 examples painted in Graphite Metallic, and out of 292 production homologated units ever produced. "It’s a very special time to be a driver, the world of F1 is growing in popularity at an unprecedented rate so more than anything, I’m just honored to be showing the people of my hometown and country that anything is possible." He also spoke casually about the King of Latin Trap: "Who doesn’t love Bad Bunny? He’s a friend, we’ve had a lot of fun together as you can see from the ["Monaco"] music video.Read the full article [here](. --------------------------------------------------------------- [Hypebeast] [Download the Hypebeast App]( On iOS & Android Devices [hypebeast instagram]( --------------------------------------------------------------- [Manage Subscriptions]( Policy]( You are subscribed to Hypebeast’s marketing emails with the address: {EMAIL} Contact [subscription@hypebeast.com](mailto: subscription@hypebeast.com) for assistance on any enquiries. 2023 Hypebeast Limited.
