Why It Matters: Even if you're not planning to buy anything, it's always interesting to see how the likes of TaylorMade, PING, Cobra, PXG and Mizuno brand and market their new drivers. AI has been a big theme over the last few years, as has carbon fiber. Most surprisingly, Kirkland, who has long made their notorious Kirkland Signature golf balls, appears to be arriving on the scene with its own premium entry in the category. Why It Matters: Malbon feels like its on an evolution at the moment that is taking it further and further away from the traditional golf crowd. With its western themed Fall/Winter 2023 line the number of golf specific pieces can be counted on one hand. Although some may question the direction, there's still consistent output from Malbon aimed at core golfers through co-branded collections with FootJoy, Nike and adidas that check the golf performance box. The price is steep at $3000 USD, but that feels reasonable given the quality and prestige of both brands. Why It Matters: Another brand on a positive trajectory is TaylorMade, who are about as core to golf as any. Through collaborations with the aforementioned Malbon and Red Bull Racing, plus a strong sense of brand image cultivated by its in-house creative team, TaylorMade is finding unexpected ways to embrace golf's new wave.
