[HYPEBEAST]( [Features]( May 24, 2019 [STREETWEAR IMPACT REPORT]( Every question about streetwear, answered. Earlier this year, [HYPEBEAST]( launched a series of [surveys]( to help the world define the growing concept of streetwear. Executed in close collaboration between HYPEBEAST and [Strategy&, PwC]( consulting firm, we looked to provide currently missing in-depth reporting and analysis around streetwear. Compiling all the information collected, the Streetwear Impact Report is a comprehensive data-driven overview of the streetwear market and consumers. The informative look invites the industry to better understand how streetwear has disrupted all facets of fashion and popular culture. Research methods for the report included both consumer surveys and industry surveys. Distributed in English, French, Korean, Japanese, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese across HYPEBEAST’s global websites and social media channels, the consumer survey collected a total of 40,960 respondents. While the industry survey was distributed directly to key players, companies and brands in the fashion industry, garnering a total of 763 respondents. Ranging from creative development to marketing and distribution, the report is split into four main articles. "Defining Streetwear" details the growing concept's origins by investigating key cultural components and considering the evolution of the face of streetwear. "Measuring Streetwear" tracks consumer spending habits, breaking down how much they spend, best-selling products and regional insights. Leading into "How Streetwear Communicates," which traces streetwear's close relationship with social media and the interesting communication loop between consumers and brands. Finally, "How Streetwear Sells" uncovers the mystique behind streetwear's direct-to-consumer model tied to its limited drops strategy and the burgeoning secondhand market. Additionally, the report features in-depth conversations with leading players in the fashion industry like [fragment design]( founder [Hiroshi Fujiwara]( contemporary artist [Daniel Arsham]( [Rimowa]( CEO [Alexandre Arnault]( and [StockX]( founder [Josh Luber](.
