Since the chunky-soled sneaker first dropped in September 2017, the shoe has appeared at fashion weeks across the world and quickly become a street style staple. There are other silhouettes vying to replace the Triple S as fashion’s favorite sneaker, though, with everything from brand new Prada models to previously-unloved Nikes finding a new home amongst the fashion elite. From the chunky-soled to the futuristic, we’ve compiled six of the sneakers that could be coming for Balenciaga’s fashion week crown. Prada Cloudbust [hypebeast] First revealed last summer, Prada’s ultra-futuristic Cloudbust silhouette is the Italian label’s take on an athletic-influenced sneaker. The shoe comes with a knitted textile upper which is offset with contrasting (or tonal, depending on the colorway) leather detailing across the sneaker. The standout features are undoubtedly the velcro strap and the bubble-like sole unit, which makes the shoe look somewhat like a high-fashion VaporMax. Louis Vuitton Archlight [hypebeast] Influenced by both futuristic trends and vintage basketball sneakers, the Louis Vuitton Archlight is an extreme take on the chunky sneaker trend. A key feature of the shoe is the exaggerated arch incorporated into the midsole. The sneaker comes in a range of colorways, including a number of white versions featuring contrasting pops of color.
