𤩠Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2025 TLDR: The buzz for the Spring/Summer 2025 season is in full force, so we rounded up the latest runway looks, trends and more to take note of. Why It Matters: Earlier this week, Milan Fashion Week staples like Fendi, Diesel, Gucci and Prada showed their upcoming collections, garnering global attention. Over at Paris Fashion Week, Pharrell Williams continues on his global LVERS journey with the reveal of his SS25 menswear collection for Louis Vuitton which focuses on celebrating all the humans that inhabit the world. Japanese designer Ryota Iwai and his brand AURALEE have revealed another New Balance collaboration with the 475 silhouette, arriving in two colors, during the brand's show. Aside from looks on the runway, showgoers took to the streets to show their own take on summer fashion fits from head to toe. ð®âð¨ 20 Years Later, the Complete HUF x Nike Air Max 1 Collection is Here TLDR: HUF’s creative director Romeo Tanghal breaks down how the duo dedicated the three-pair project to the “real heads.” Why It Matters: TThe HUF x Nike Air Max 1 ignited excitement from sneakerheads across the country by combining the grays of San Francisco’s fog and the concrete of the city’s streets with HUF’s signature “Pear Green.” Current HUF creative director Romeo Tanghal was a teenager growing up in New Jersey at the time, but to this day, he remembers how impressive it was to see a brand from out West represented on the shelves of stores in New York City. However, it’s not just the “Pear Green” pair that has captivated collectors for decades. ð Jiyong Kim: Earth, Wind, and Sun-Bleaching TLDR: This is how the South Korean designer harnesses the elements to create his one-of-a-kind garments. Why It Matters: As Kim’s label has grown, he’s refined his experimental treatment practice, getting it “down to a science.” After extensive lab testing, he knows how certain fabrics will respond to various weather elements, and the creation process of a given collection becomes something akin to a field trip. For Kim’s latest collection, his team traveled to the countryside a few hours away from his Seoul studio to find the best natural environment for sun-bleaching. The designer has also created clothing during the winter in sub-zero temperatures, as well as during the thick of summer when the fabrics get hit with scorching heat and heavy humidity. Depending on when and where the process takes place, asymmetrical markings, geometric patterns, and blended or faded colorations will form on the clothing. Everything the JiyongKim label releases is one-of-one, and specific designs take months to be fully treated by the elements. ð§âð¤âð§ See Where Artists Loso, COVL and Kevin Leonel Fostered their Creativity and Community with Modelo Especial TLDR: Celebration of individuality lies at the brand's core, which is why Modelo partnered with three New York artists as part of the 'Humbly Me' Design Challenge, in support of Hypebeast's Hypeflea. Why It Matters: The names featured in this project are known for illuminating the Latin diaspora through their work in different mediums. Reflecting the Modelo 'Mark of a Fighter' mentality, artists COVL, Loso and Kevin Leonel turn obstacles into opportunities and weave their colorful personal narratives into their creations. For this project, the artists were tasked with creating pieces imbued with the essence of Modelo, along with their own heritage, using found materials or the tools on hand within their studio spaces. Bring the 'Humbly Me' Design Challenge to life, each artist also identified some of their favorite local spots, most of which shaped their artistic outlooks and identities today. ð¡ Furniture Designer Sophie Collé Debuts the Exclusive Element Lamp for Afterpay Dropshop TLDR: Tapping into her unique aesthetic while staying true to Afterpay’s mission of access, Collé designed a limited release of the Element Lamp for Afterpay Dropshop. Why It Matters: Afterpay has pushed the boundaries of Drop Culture beyond the niches of fashion and footwear. Partnering with Collé, the “Buy Now, Pay Later” platform will release a limited run of exclusive lamps through Dropshop. “I normally never drop pieces like this or put out collections like this at all. It’s new for me to work within exclusive editions, but knowing that they also will be at a more affordable price point, especially with Afterpay being involved, is amazing,” Collé expressed.
