The latest from the HSUS. [The Humane Society of the United States]() [Your impact this month] [A sad chained dog]( [20+ dogs rescued from alleged neglect]( [The Humane Society of the United States assisted the Vidalia Police Department and Vidalia Animal Control in rescuing more than 20 dogs and puppies from an alleged neglect situation at a residential property in Vidalia, Louisiana.]( The dogs were found scattered around the yard—many restrained on chains and wandering through tall, thick grass and debris. Six juveniles were found in a small pen with a worn tarp overhead. There were feces all around the yard, and many of the dogs had no apparent access to clean water, food or adequate shelter. We transported the rescued animals to an undisclosed location where they will continue to receive veterinary exams and much-needed care. [A rescued cat being held]( [110 cats and kittens recovering after rescue from alleged cruelty situation]( Our team found a total of 110 Maine Coon-type cats and kittens on the Virginia property and worked quickly to transport them to an undisclosed location to receive in-depth veterinary exams and treatment. [Tigers being forced to perform in a circus]( [The 'Greatest Show on Earth' finally does the greatest thing for animals]( After being shuttered for six years because of flagging ticket sales and financial troubles, a new kind of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus has kicked off a nationwide tour, this time without a single animal caged, held captive and forced to perform for public entertainment. [A happy beagle]( [4,000 beagles celebrate one-year 'Beagle-versary' in style]( Thousands of families recently celebrated the one-year anniversary of adopting their beagles. Last summer, the Humane Society of the United States stepped in at the request of the U.S. Department of Justice to transport nearly 4,000 beagles from a facility that bred dogs for the animal testing industry and had numerous animal welfare violations. [Two models wearing faux fear]( [Cutting cruelty out of fashion]( Over decades, the HSUS and Humane Society International carried out undercover investigations, persuaded designers to go fur-free and campaigned for government bans on animal fur production and sales. Today, more than 30 years after activists started pushing for change in the 1980s, the future they hoped for is here. [A dog with a gold collar]( [Don’t miss our annual gala]( We’re less than two weeks away from our annual To The Rescue! New York gala hosted at Cipriani 42nd Street! Join us on Nov. 3 for an inside look at our efforts in the U.S. and around the world to strengthen the bond between people and animals. [Edye Lou and her dog]( [How one donor pays it forward]( Like Edye Lou, you can make a better world for animals. When you include a gift to the Humane Society of the United States in your will or living trust, you help us continue the fight to end animal suffering. Please consider extending your love for animals far into the future with a bequest for the HSUS.
