Our Animal Rescue Team is currently on the ground in Mississippi responding to an alleged cruelty case involving more than 170 cats. [The Humane Society of the United States]() [Three cats huddled in a cage]( {NAME}, More than 170 cats have been living a nightmare in small-town Mississippi. Our Animal Rescue Team has deployed to rescue them from horrific conditions. We found them living in filth, some roaming free and others living in cramped and dirty cages stacked on top of one another. Several cats are in dire need of veterinary care, and some have skin and eye conditions. Many have no apparent access to clean water. These suffering cats clearly need our help right now. [Please consider rushing a donation to support our first rescue of the year and our lifesaving work for all animals.]( [Several sad cats in a dirty room]( When we arrived, we saw overflowing litter boxes and surfaces coated in filth. The air quality was horrific and some of the cats are suffering from upper respiratory infections. These cats deserve love and care.
