{NAME}, "Life" on a factory farm is so dark and painful it almost sounds fictional. On a typical egg

[Please urge Brian Cornell, the CEO of Target, to keep the company's animal welfare promises and stop using cruel cages and crates.]( [The Humane Society of the United States]() [A sad, young pig in a dark, filthy gestation crate]( {NAME}, "Life" on a factory farm is so dark and painful it almost sounds fictional. On a typical egg factory farm, a hen is crammed into a battery cage roughly the size of a microwave with as many as nine other birds, where she is unable to spread her wings for her entire life. Each hen is forced to eat, sleep and defecate in the same limited space and is denied almost everything that is natural to her. It's not only cruel but increases the spread of disease. [Please urge Target to honor its original animal welfare pledges and move away from gestation crates and battery cages immediately!]( It's not limited to hens, mother pigs suffer just as much. Mother pigs in the pork industry are routinely confined to "gestation crates," which are small cages that prohibit the sensitive, intelligent mom from even being able to turn around. Companies like Costco, McDonald’s, Burger King, IHOP, Unilever, Cheesecake Factory, Nestlé and dozens of others have all remained committed to reaching their pledges to eliminate cruel confinement from their supply chains, while Target has refused to keep its word. There is no excuse for Target to be falling short. [Tell Target to keep their promise.]( [Take Action]( Photo by Lukas Vincour/Zvirata Nejime/We Animals Media [Facebook]( [Twitter]( [Instagram]( [YouTube]( [text]( [View in browser]( [Donate today to stand up for animals who need you.]( © 2024 [The Humane Society of the United States]() [1255 23rd St. NW, Suite 450, Washington, DC 20037]() donorcare@humanesociety.org | [202-452-1100](tel:202-452-1100) This message was sent to [{EMAIL}](mailto:). Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
