[Tell Congress to reject $30 million to fund even more monkey experiments!]( [The Humane Society of the United States]() [A primate being tested on]( {NAME}, The horrors faced by monkeys used in experiments are heartbreaking and unimaginable. They spend their days in barren cages, except when they're being subjected to terrifying and often painful procedures. These inquisitive and social animals are force-fed potentially toxic substances, infected with diseases and immobilized in restraint chairs for hours on end. The National Institutes of Health requested $10 million in taxpayer dollars in the federal budget for 2025 to support additional experiments on monkeys. Not only did the Senate Appropriations Committee approve their request, they increased the amount to $30 million to expand the monkey experimentation industry in their version of the annual appropriations bill that contains funding for the NIH. [Tell Congress to reject $30 million to fund even more monkey experiments!]( No animal should be forced to suffer this way when many non-animal alternative methods, which are based on human biology and yield more accurate results, already exist. Even more so, the U.S. Congress should not be funding these experiments with taxpayer dollars! [We now need your help to make sure this funding is NOT included in the final bill, which will likely be voted on later this year.]( [Take Action]( Photo by the HSUS [Facebook]( [Twitter]( [Instagram]( [YouTube]( [text]( [View in browser]( [Donate today to stand up for animals who need you.]( © 2024 [The Humane Society of the United States]() [1255 23rd St. NW, Suite 450, Washington, DC 20037]() donorcare@humanesociety.org | [202-452-1100](tel:202-452-1100) This message was sent to [{EMAIL}](mailto:).
