I'm not interested in a 'charge on the go' hybrid as a lot of my journeys are short and would not allow sufficient time to charge. I currently drive a BMW 225XE hybrid which is a great car but getting a bit long in the tooth now . I took the seats out of my Bipper and used it like a van, but it has to go because of ULEZ, and there are no modern petrol versions (except a few Qubos). I think you advise drivers to maintain 2000rpm for 15 miles or so on a dual carriageway or motorway. Should I do this in manual mode in order to achieve the desired revs? It is now undriveable and back at a Land Rover garage waiting to be repaired. It's going to take weeks and they told me no courtesy cars are available, am I entitled to a car because I have to wait so long? I am seeing more and more new vehicles with a mass of tail lights covering the whole width of the vehicle. I really find these these to be hazardous as they dominate the road ahead so much that other vehicles and especially cyclists become marginalised. I thought rear lights had a specific marker function towards the edges of the vehicle. These new lights seem to be just trendy, selfish and excessive. The adaptor has a digital display to show charging status. With the ignition switched off the digital display is still illuminated. Is this okay or could it drain the battery? The place where I live and drive is full of potholes and I hear many are having bigger repairs caused by these potholes. Anything we can do to reduce impact of potholes, like using different kind of tyres? Or less air in the tyres etc. Or anything else that comes to mind? I have read lots of mixed reviews regarding connectivity, signal loss etc especially due to the length of a motorhome. I don’t want to feed wires through or under so hoping you can recommend a good one for me. Last year it was £229, now they want £380, a 65% increase! How is this justified? I have not changed my car, increased my mileage, received any points, had any accidents - ever, in fact no claims at all. Nothing in my life has changed apart from being one year older. How do I get a reasonable quote. In your item concerning getting quotes for a driver of my age it suggests that a quote of £265 is possible with LV, how do I get near to this? Apart from HP 150 and 200, all data i see varies. Some suggest 35 is cheaper to run, others suggest there is no difference, in which case what is the point of splitting the same engine? The tyre company tell me that this is correct for an electric car. The tyres are Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2. Please advise as I am somewhat sceptical. Is there a warranty on all BMW products ? The garage who fitted it tell us there was only a years warranty on it, and before they give us a decision on what they can do we need to take it back to let them to assess the car. I too have more of a problem driving at night, needing to slow down, almost to a stop on some occasions, when approached by a car using, I assume, these new LED lights. I thought it might be my eyesight at first as I didn't use glasses while driving, so I visited an optician recently who recommended anti-glare driving glasses, but these haven't noticeably improved the night driving experience. I drive a Mazda 6 estate diesel and wondered what headlight bulbs, if any, might improve night vision? I'm a slowish driver, mostly 2,000 rpm and have the car in eco, whatever that does. She does around 45mpg, maybe less if I'm pushing it along on the motorway. Chipping is another thing which might improve it. Any suggestions, including leave well alone? Why would BP be charging so much, 10p more than Sainsbury's even, according the internet, this can't be fair? The BP garage also runs an M&S outlet on the premises. These give a very hard ride but are cross-climate. This model doesn't have two suspension settings that I think some models had. Back seat passengers have complained and questioned whether something is wrong. Is there a better option to get a softer ride? I really don't fancy changing tyres between summer and winter but the car does seem a bit skittish in winter conditions which may be down to the local authority not gritting enough as last winter we had several cars wind up in the ditch and through the hedge on bends nearby so maybe I shouldn't blame the car or tyres!
