We have looked at a Skoda Kamiq, Honda Jazz and the Kia Niro. Would you have a suggestion? We want a comfortable and quiet drive as we do 2 hour drives twice weekly. We have a maxinum of £25,000. But why do some insurers not insure this type of car, when I thought that it was only cars that were too expensive to fix, or stolen too much that were the common reason for refusing, but I wouldn't have thought that this car comes under those criteria, or does it? The dealer encouraged me to keep the car and they would fix it. After numerous trips to garages the car is still not repaired and is now residing at another garage where itâs been for three weeks. The car is under warranty. What rights do I have in returning the car? I would obviously have not kept the car knowing it seemingly is very hard to repair. Although it's only an advisory, it's still quite a blight on my car should I wish to sell it this year. Obviously, if it's a saftey issue I'll have the repair done, but the garage can't or won't demonstrate the problem to me, saying it's a self-populating drop down box on the VT20 pass document. Can I insist that they prove the advisory is correct, or ask them to remove it from the VT20 if it can't be demonstrated. Or perhaps request that they re-test it, and remove the incorrect advisory? If not can I lodge a complaint with the DVSA? I asked the dealer to confirm this which they did in writing. On completion of the purchase I checked the V5 from which it is clear that the engine is EU5 with NOx of .17. So non compliant. The vehicle was first registered on 27th October 2015 after what I believe was the last date for registration of new EU5 (15th September 2015). The TFL site and other state the vehicle is compliant based on registration date I believe but clearly it is not. Why was this vehicle allowed to be registered and has the dealer misrepresented the vehicle (perhaps innocently), if so should it be liable for the loss in value of a non compliant vehicle? I have always found the ride to be noisy and hard but enjoyed the sharp steering and power response. The car has done 25000 miles and I anticipate the original tyres - Pirelli 225/ R18's- will need to be changed soon. The car's "comfort" mode makes little difference. Now I'm 75 and looking for a quieter, more comfortable ride. Will changing to pneumatic tyres help or should I consider a new car? I would look for auto transmission, petrol or petrol/hybrid and fwd or 4wd. I could allocate £10,000 plus trade in but need any new car to fit in my garage so a maximum width of 2.0 metres.
