Is there anything else I should look out for? Ideally, I'd like a petrol as I don't do many long journeys. I've had my eye on a Citroen DS3 1.6 VTI (2010-2015) but can't seem to find much info regarding reliability. What would you recommend? The vehicle is used only for short runs - perhaps 20 miles a day, three days a week. From the start, we have had problems with a flat battery. The dealer finally provided us with a trickle charger, which wasn't convenient as the car is kept on the drive. Eventually, we took the vehicle to the local Citroen dealer who advised that an incorrect battery had been fitted. Since the change, there hasn't been a problem until now. The van has been unused for a week (because of the bad weather) and the battery is again flat. The handbook suggests that the battery should be disconnected if the car isn't to be used for a month. Is there a known problem with the electrics in the Citroen Berlingo or is it more likely to be a problem with this van, which the garage failed to spot? As I drive less than 5,000 miles per annum, I asked Audi to change my oil as it's a year old. They said it was unnecessary as the schedule is two years. Do you think this is a wise move? The car must be comfortable, well-equipped, reasonably economical, reliable and ULEZ-compliant. Are you able to recommend suggestions with a maximum budget 0f £16,000? Line painting used to be a regular occurrence but now, in some circumstances, I feel I'm not driving but guessing on the direction of the lanes. Who should I report this to? So far I have found the Land Rover Discovery Sport and the Toyota RAV4 potentially meet these criteria. Any other ideas, please? I am 70 years old and most of my motoring is local up to 30 miles. But I regularly travel for holidays, around 120 miles each way with no plug-in facilities. Do I stick with a conventional petrol car? Or choose a hybrid, PHEV or pure electric car? This combination often results in a hard ride and susceptibility to wheel and tyre damage on our roads. Why do they do it?
