Does this mean drivers waiting at the crown of the road to turn right must check for cyclists coming from behind in the middle of the road down their offside or does this just apply in a one-way street scenario? Why do so few manufacturers specify this? They are brilliant on frosty mornings. Will have to stay with Land Rover! She would like an automatic, a rear view camera and heated seats. Ideally a petrol/hybrid, but an electric car or just petrol is OK too. She could not get comfortable in a Smart Four-Two. She found a Toyota Yaris too big and an Aygo too low. Ideally, we would like to avoid a European car. We have a budget up to about £30,000. Parts were not fitted as well as accessories missing. However, on complaining it appears that some rubber plugs to chassis had not been fitted. My concern is that the car has been used in lots of wet weather over the winter months as well as done 2,000 miles, the plugs are now fitted and I'm worried that water, road salts and grit etc may have entered the chassis and then sealed in with the plugs and that premature rusting from inside the chassis may be accelerated due to this. Is there anything that can be done to solve this? My budget is £20,000. I think I need something the size of a saloon as I will be doing around 18,000 miles per year with frequent motorway trips (three people) but will also be driving in London frequently too. What should I buy? On the face of it, the vehicle was ideal and we agreed to meet half way for me to inspect the car and, if satisfied, do the deal. The vehicle was indeed very tidy and we agreed the price with an undertaking that he would take it back if I was dissatisfied. Before I had driven the vehicle he asked me to sign a form that I had tested it and was satisfied. On the drive home the oil pressure light came on, and my local motor engineer confirmed that the vehicle was using a lot of oil. I contacted the seller who is proving reluctant to reverse the sale: he wants several hundred pounds for collection, plus a £1.49 charge per mile for my usage subsequent to the sale. Do I have any redress, because, as a dealer, he was obviously aware that the vehicle was faulty? Or do I need to accept that my gullibility is my loss? The Honda has been very practical, but it is now over 10 years old and I would like to try something different. I would still like my wish list to include the best features of the Honda, including good reliability, high driving position, automatic transmission and large luggage carrying capacity, but as it will be used for mainly local journeys with occasional longer trips, I would definitely like much better efficiency, so a petrol/hybrid option would also be preferred. It's a great car but now too expensive for us to stay with Kia. Our budget is limited, we don't want PCP and do want a long warranty. My husband and son are both 6 foot 3 inches and I'm 5ft 10. Size wise - what could you recommend we look at please? Is the MG ZS or a Dacia Duster worth looking at and which is better size wise? Another alloy has a '7.5Jx.....etc.' What is the difference between 7.0 and 7.5? They are ordinary H7 and seem pathetic, hardly illuminating the road, especially when faced with oncoming traffic. Whether this is the height they are or what I don’t know. I’ve been looking at Philips X-treme or the halogen equivalent, or Osram Night Breaker. Apparently my car has polycarbonate lenses, will these upgrade bulbs be too hot? Hope you can help as night time driving is a bit of a nightmare at the moment. Firstly, is it best to put her on our car insurance or buy her own car and start insurance by herself? She is interested in low cc Corsa or would she be better off with a Citroen C1,Toyota Aygo or Peugeot 107? Or what would you recommend. Is it a good idea have a black box fitted? We are thinking of paying up to £4,000. She will be going to university in a year's time. I had been averaging around 34/33 mpg until recently. My fuel economy has dropped to 28/26 mpg. My route hasn't changed I believe I have been using the new petrol E10. Is this mpg drop to be expected with the recent formula change to petrol? If this is the case I would be using approximately half a gallon more petrol for every twenty pound spent at the pump. I don't see how this could be any benefit to the environment burning more fuel only an advantage to Government taxes and the fuel companies. It has only been used for 100 miles in this time due to a combination of old age and the pandemic. My son (her grandson) is thinking of buying it from her. Can you advise please whether by not being used this will have damaged the car? Many thanks for your advice, Kind regards, David Moss [Read more →]( [BMW 2 Series Active Tourer - cam belt or chain?]( Posted by on 8 February, 2022 Does the engine in the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer 1.5D auto (66 plate) have a cam belt or is it chain driven?
