I've just bought a 2017 Honda CR-V from Honda Used Approved. How do I go about cleaning and protecting the paintwork? What can I use to take off existing scratches? Thanks.

[Can you advise on a good, simple dash camera?](

After having been subjected to reckless harassment on the motorway yesterday, I'm considering purchasing front and rear in-car cameras. I should appreciate if you recommend a good but relatively simple in-car camera system. With very many thanks.

[Should I get a petrol or diesel SUV?](
Posted by on 14 October, 2020
I'm considering buying a Mercedes-Benz GLB but I'm yet to decide which option is better, the 200 petrol or the 200d diesel one. I'm a normal all-round driver (driving on both motorways and in the city). Although I did test drive the petrol one, I tend to consider the diesel option a better one, both for its higher torque level and its 8-speed gearbox. I'd appreciate any honest advice. Many thanks.

[Which secondhand car would be the best buy from a low emissions point of view?](
Posted by on 13 October, 2020
I can't buy an electric car (nowhere for a charging point) and I don't like automatics so hybrids are out. Which secondhand car would be the best buy from a low emissions point of view? I also want reasonable comfort, reliability and low maintenance.

[Can I add a rear-facing lens onto my dash camera?](
Posted by on 13 October, 2020
Could you please recommend a good quality dashcam for both front and rear at a sensible price? I have a front only Nextbase 312GW and it seems there's a small separate camera I can get that's located on the rear windscreen. Can I simply upgrade my current dashcam to include a rear camera when transferring to a new car rather than having to buy a completely new system? Your usual good advice would be appreciated.

[Should I keep my diesel car if my mileage has dropped?](
Posted by on 13 October, 2020
I own a diesel 2015 BMW 5 Series estate with 51,000 miles - which I love. However, since retiring, my mileage is very low. A pre-owned 5 Series PHEV is frankly too expensive for me now. What would you recommend considering the driving dynamics of the 5? Or should I keep my car?

[Can I reject a car based on wear and tear after I've bought it?](
Posted by on 13 October, 2020
I'm in the process of buying a 15-year-old Jaguar. But because of the covid situation, I've not seen or driven the car, which will be delivered to me by the dealer. All my investigations suggest the car has been very well cared for by its only owner having been serviced on a regular frequency by a Jaguar garage. Naturally, I will test drive the car on delivery before confirming my purchase. However, being a cautious person within a few days of purchase I shall have the car checked over by an independent Jag specialist to ascertain if there are any areas of concern. My question relates to the subject of wear and tear. Does all wear and tear have to be accepted by a purchaser or is it possible a claim could be made against the dealer or the car justifiably rejected if the wear and tear in any given area is severe?

[I want a hybrid but do mostly short journeys. Would lack of use harm the petrol engine?](
Posted by on 12 October, 2020
I'm contemplating buying a hybrid. What worries me is the majority of my journeys are 20 miles or less so would be on electric power only. Occasionally, I make longer journeys. Will long periods unused harm the petrol engine?

[Can I overtake an electric scooter in a cycle lane?](
Posted by on 12 October, 2020
With the introduction of e-scooters being trialled, is a driver allowed to cross a white line to overtake one? It may well be travelling at less than 10mph, but will it be classified as a bicycle? The Highway Code permits one to cross a white line to overtake a cyclist providing it is travelling at less than 10mph.

[Which is better, the Peugeot 2008 or Skoda Kamiq?](
Posted by on 12 October, 2020
You've long rated the Peugeot 2008. Does the Skoda Kamiq (or some other new crossover?) change your view? For us, comfort comes higher than fast cornering. Is the 1-litre engine really better than the 1.5-litre if money isn't too much of an issue? Many thanks.
