What if it can't be fixed?]( Posted by on 8 October, 2020 I purchased a BMW X3 last November at 33,030 miles. Warranty was due to run out on 19 September, but in August a knock started when going over a bump. I reported it and was instructed to take it in and it would all be covered under the warranty. After five weeks and numerous new parts being fitted, the problem is still in existence. I haven’t got my car back and they have given me a courtesy car. The car was purchased from the main dealer and is now at another main dealer. What happens if they cannot solve the problem, please? It was previously owned by an engineering company and has a full service history, very clean. Asking £3800. Is this worth it or is the mileage too high? It's a 600-mile round trip to pick it up. I have certainly been put off replacing my 2017 Hyundai i30 diesel because of this fear. Plus, there are certain nearby cities to me which either have restrictions on diesels or are threatening to do so. I have moved to a rural area with lots of narrow lanes and deep gullies at the sides. I want to trade in my 2010 Saab convertible (as it's unsuitable for my new area) for something more robust like a Honda CR- V, Mazda CX-5 or a Landrover Freelander. I have around £5000 to spend plus the trade-in price of the Saab. I would be most grateful for any advice. I know about moving the vehicle to stop the tyres getting flat spots, but what trickle charger do you recommend to keep the battery healthy, please? I asked for a direct replacement but noticed on arrival home that it's a different tyre tread pattern from the other front tyre. The tyre firm said it did not make any difference. Are they correct? So, I unlock the car via keyless entry, get in, start the car then put the key fob into the Faraday pouch. Would the car stay on and could I still drive it without taking the fob out of the pouch? Many thanks. [Read more →]( [Is it illegal to have an on/off switch for the headlight on my motorbike?]( Posted by on 6 October, 2020 I've recently brought Yamasaki RE50 Moped and have a question. The garage who I took the bike to tell me that it is illegal to have a main headlight on/off switch as well as a separate high and low beam switch. They said that new bikes now are required to have this switch covered so lights stay on all the time. The bike does have a Daytime Running Light though. I'll be grateful to know if this is true and, if so, could you lead me to a law document that says so? Would this be an MOT fail? Kind regards. Do you know what could be causing it?]( Posted by on 6 October, 2020 My 2017 Ford C-Max appears to have a leak somewhere in the boot area, which results in water collecting in the bottom of the spare wheel holding area. It's still under Ford warranty (I bought it as a Ford Direct used car). The dealer so far has had no success in locating where the leak is. Do you have any ideas? Many thanks.
