This week we're beginning the habit of meal planning, following these simple steps for how to do it. [View this email in your browser]( [Home Storage Solutions 101: A Place For Everything That Matters]( Week #8 Organized Home Challenge: Healthy Meal Planning Dear {NAME}, Your challenge this week, in Week #8 of the 52 Week Organized Home Challenge, is to get in the habit of [healthy meal planning, and creating a grocery shopping list]( so you don't forget anything at the store each time you go. Once you start this habit, and are doing it continuously, you're going to see the incredible daily rewards you get from meal planning, which include less stress and feeling caught by surprise, the ability to focus more on the health of your meals, and your family's preferences, as well as saving so much time and money. In the past, if you've ever tried meal planning and found it hard to start, or continue, that's not totally surprising because meal planning actually involves several different habits, and requires some foundational organization in several areas before it starts to feel like smooth sailing. That's why I waited until our last week in the kitchen to do this challenge, since many of the other challenges paved the way for this one. That is because it is easier to engage in healthy meal planning when you've: - [Organized your recipes]( - [Organized your coupons]( - [Know what's in your pantry]( (such as with a pantry inventory); - [Know what's in your refrigerator and freezer]( (such as with a freezer inventory); and - [Created and maintain a family calendar]( Don't get discouraged though if you haven't done any or all of the above mentioned challenges. You can still do meal planning. You'll just find it even easier once you tackle these other areas too, since being organized in them makes it easier to habitually engage in deciding your meals for the week. In this week's challenge I discuss the various ways you can meal plan, and the steps you should take to begin or continue meal planning, plus I explain why I think meal planning is a key to an organized home and life!
