Car Organization Challenge: Week #38 In the [car organization challenge]( the goal for your vehicles is to have access to what you truly need easily and quickly, as well as not to be embarrassed to let others ride in your car because you don't want them to see the junk you're carrying around. Of course, organizing your car has some challenges that some other areas in your home don't have, such as extremely limited space, plus in your home you don't need to worry about how your organizing will be impacted by motion, acceleration and deceleration. Finally, during this week I want each of us to really think about the functions of our car, and not consider it a moving file cabinet or extra space to store items. And either way can be detrimental to getting the job done. When you underestimate how long it will take, you will often start and then quit, because you're overwhelmed. Then, you may swing to the other extreme and overestimate how long it will take, and feel so intimidated that you won't start. So what do I think you should do to fix this common mistake? It's simple, but not easy, as most effective solutions are. And that's to go ahead and tackle the task in very small steps. Make the step so small it's no big deal to do it, but be committed to doing the step as many times, ultimately, as is necessary to complete the task. Because if you never start, the time still passes and the guaranteed result, when you don't start, is a continually cluttered home.
