[Home Storage Solutions 101: A Place For Everything That Matters](
Dear {NAME},
Hey, it's me, Taylor.
It's been quite the week, hasn't it?
I hope this email finds you well, but sitting at home helping [flatten the curve]( by slowing the rate of transmission of this virus.
If you're anything like me, you're feeling a bit unmoored, with so much changing so quickly, such as the closing of schools, businesses and perhaps even needing to work from home.
I decided, at least for the time being, that I'm going to keep going with the calendar for the daily Declutter 365 missions, partly to keep a little normalcy in our lives, and also because many of us are home right now, meaning we can actually find the time, while at home, to actually declutter!
So that's why you'll continue to see similar emails from me, that you'd normally see. I want you, to the extent you can, continue on with your commitment to declutter and organize your home. (The main difference is you may need to hold onto the items you've decided to donate or sell, and instead of getting them out of your home quickly, right now designate an out of the way area in your home to store these items until you're able to donate or sell them, later, when things hopefully return to some type of normal.)
And I also started a whole new Facebook group dedicated to getting us grounded and focused on keeping our household functioning during this unprecedented time, so read on if you'd like to join!

I have been thinking about what I want to, personally, for my family, now that we're trying to socially distance, and stay at home as a family for the next several weeks. As I thought I found I kept saying to myself, "back to basics," in my mind. It has been my mantra.
Then, I realized if I'm feeling this way I bet others are too. So I wanted us to take some actions together to feel more grounded, centered, and like we're taking control of the things we can during these times.
At unprecedented times like this, sometimes the most mundane tasks (and involving your family in them too) become very important, for daily functioning as well as giving you a sense of control, and some peace of mind. Here's some of the back to basic fundamentals I plan for us to focus on in this new, free group:
- Cleaning up your kitchen each day
- Doing a daily tidy up around your home (I've got an article on this topic below, actually!)
- Daily decluttering tasks (what we already discuss and do with Declutter 365)
- Getting laundry done on a schedule
- Keeping up with daily cleaning tasks, like what I call my "core 5", and right now with the pandemic perhaps a bit of extra cleaning as well
- Weekly cleaning schedule
- Meal planning
- Daily or regular exercise
- Making your bed, and otherwise doing little touches to make your house feel like a home
- Dealing daily with paperwork, mail as it comes in the door
- Weekly paperwork and financial routine, to pay bills, deal with the business of life
- Having a morning routine that starts out your day well (that's the Challenge we're working on this week in the 52 Week Organized Home Challenge)
- Doing an evening routine that ends the day well, sets you up for the next day, and ensures you're getting adequate sleep

How {And Why} To Adopt A Daily Tidy Up Routine
There are some basic and fundamental tasks you need to do regularly in your home to keep things running smoothly. Already you're committed to daily decluttering tasks, but now in this Declutter 365 mission I want to encourage you to also adopt a daily tidy up routine.
This article explains the how and why of this important routine, and how it helps you maintain the decluttering progress you see with the daily missions, so clutter doesn't pile back up in your home.
Also, learn how I define and differentiate between "decluttering" and "tidying."

Pantry Inventory Form To Prep For Staying Inside
[Pantry Inventory List](
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues I know a lot of people are beginning to stay in their homes for several weeks, to help flatten the curve, and make sure their family and community stays safe.
Of course, to be able to stay in your home for a couple of weeks you've got to have enough food stored, and the first step in making sure you do that is to know what you've already got on hand. That helps you see what you can already cook and eat, where you have some gaps, and then make decisions about what else you'll stock up on.
To do that, I suggest making a quick pantry inventory, as well as a freezer inventory. My husband and I updated ours recently, so we could make sure we purchased the right additional items. You can use this pantry inventory form to do the same, [get your free printable here](.

Homemade Disinfectant Recipe
We need to be disinfecting items in our homes even more than normal, because of the current Coronavirus pandemic. If you need to make your own disinfectant recipe, here's an effective and simple recipe.
In addition, there's discussion of what is referred to as "kill time," which is the science behind disinfecting and which explains why, no matter what product you use to disinfect, homemade or commercial, the surface will not instantly be sanitized and disinfected, but it takes some time!
