How To Declutter Your Food Cupboards & Food Storage Areas
Dear {NAME},
One of the things we've got to declutter in our kitchens is food, and I know that can be something that's tough, especially if you deal with the guilt of food waste.
But practiclly, it needs to get done, because old, expired food doesn't deserve a place in your home. This article helps by helping you to learn how to declutter food cupboards, pantry shelves and other shelf-stable food in your home, and explains the three choices for what to do with the food when doing this task.
There are also photos from readers who've already done this task, to show you what an improvement you can experience in your cupboards and pantry when you do this mission for yourself!

Free Printable Pantry Inventory Form
Once you've decluttered and organized your pantry I suggest you create a pantry inventory.
Those who find this most helpful are those people who like to have certain "pantry staples" in their food cupboards or pantries at all times.
An inventory is a simple way to keep track of those staples, that you never want to be without, to help you know when to stock up on more of a certain category or type of food, when you've got enough, and when you need to plan some meals to use up a few ingredients that are still good, but getting a bit older and need to be used soon.
Don't get bogged down in this task, so instead of doing a meticulous inventory I suggest doing a "loose" one. What I mean by a loose inventory is that I think it's good to know you've got approximately 8-10 cans of soup, but I don't think you need to list the exact types and their expiration dates, for example.
Get the most benefit from the least amount of effort is my motto! You can get more explanation, plus get your free printable form in the article linked below.

List Of What To Donate To Food Pantries
Recently we've been working on decluttering and organizing our pantries and food cupboard, as part of the Declutter 365 missions. When you find food that hasn't expired, but that you know you and your family won't eat, I encourage you to donate it to a food pantry or a similar charity.
Here's my article with a list of items that food pantries really need. My hope is this will help you identify the things in your pantry, or additional items you can throw in your grocery cart next time at the store, to make sure those less fortunate have food too.
