From the whimsical art and wall hangings to the unique lighting fixtures found throughout, thought was put into every detail. Though each room is a separate space, visitors can look through from the living room into the kitchen and the dining room beyond. The designers kept this in mind and created a simple theme that turned into a beautify design. Luxury and utility were the goals in the bedrooms and bathrooms. Architect: [Alena Makagon]( Photographer: Artem Zavarzin A magnificent wall system fills the wall of the living area. Shelving for accessories and books surround the television which is mounted on a high gloss background. A fun piece of canvas monkey art adds whimsy and a blast of red. Two rows of canned lighting was used above the seating area. A great place for a [comfortable reading chair]( is near the bookshelf and next to the window. The modern cobalt blue chair is ergonomically designed and looks great too. The seating took on the shape of the room and echoes the straight lines in the entertainment center. From the sectional you get a great view of the window overlooking the city. This window provides great natural lighting. The panel can be drawn to block the light or provide privacy. Perfect for an open plan, the sectional has a low back. The piece provides ample seating and because it was upholstered in a light beige fabric, it doesn’t weigh down the space. A chase at the end of the recliner provides the perfect spot to lounge. The open shelving units continue into the dining room, giving a space for storage and display without the bulk of door cabinets. This home office with circle wood paneling on the wall was furnished with a writing desk at the window and a sofa. For extra room for visitors, consider a sleeper sofa in your office space. This home office has a great lighting for working. The light wood floor is covered with a taupe rug. The palm [house plant]( is seen throughout this house, creating a theme of sorts. Plants, whether artificial or live, offer a way to make a house cozy. Against this wall, it provides contrast to the circle pattern. Storage is available at two levels. The higher can be used for media and the bottom platform is a drawer unit. Accessories are kept at a minimum throughout the apartment, but using only a few select pieces worked perfectly to keep the design clean and crisp. The master bedroom uses a masterful mix of materials. The wood paneling on the back wall in a pine finish pairs well with the light maple flooring. Breaking up the wood look a bit is a low platform unit that serves as the nightstand next to the fully upholstered platform bed. The spacious master bedroom boasts a great window to create a seating area. The lighting in the room comes from the natural light, wall lamps, and lighting wall behind the bed. The wall behind the television is in all black, making a great backdrop for movie watching. This wardrobes has essential pieces – the puff ottoman for easy dressing, shelves for folded jeans and tees, and a full mirror for a quick check once you’ve put that perfect outfit together. This fabulous kids room is fun without going over the top with wooden panels as clouds on the wall, circle pendant lights on the ceiling, and fun floating shelves in the corner. A great platform toy box in blue sits beside the bed. The comfy bed for resting and play table for building block castles complete the room. This room takes on a lighter hue than most of the home. Keeping it bright for the little ones is always a good idea. These amusing oval cage lights hanging from the ceiling add a little fun to a little tykes room. The rug adds an air of femininity to this cozy room. A comfortable chair for reading and a workspace makes this a great room for a teen or college student. A small multi-surface desk, bookshelves and contemporary desk chair complete this corner of the room. The seating area was completed with a 2 round porthole style mirrors, and fun big bulb lighting fixture against a wall in ocean blue. Open shelves are used for accessories and books. A comfy chair sits in front of the window, great setting for a good read. A block bookshelf stands behind the bed that has a low upholstered headboard. Straight lines and whimsical lighting features greet you in the kitchen. A black bar table extends from the dark mint island. Seating for four or five can be extended with barstools around the island. The white surface on the island seems to pop up out of the top. The glossy finish around the kitchen bounces light and opens the kitchen up. The refrigerator seamlessly blends into the wall. All white dishware keeps the look fresh and crisp. A simple sprig of greenery brings the botanical theme into the kitchen. Lighting placed under the cabinets help while cooking and create a fabulous ambiance. While they seem to be accessories just floating, these are pendant lights. A great twist on lighting in this otherwise linear room. A close up on the bar table shows the grey granite. Just below, the wood floors are a light grey finish. Upholstered chairs in a blue gray have a light welt and mini arm for comfort. The china is kept in an open curio that allows the eye to flow through to the next room. This dining room screams board room meets high class. The simple black table was paired with unique contemporary bright blue dining chairs. A full wall was dedicated to the botanical theme of the home. The lone accessory in the room, a brass vase takes your eye to the center of the table and up to the brass and white lighting. Why use tons of accessories to establish a theme? Simply use a wall of tropical greenery and bamboo inspired wall paneling. These large countertop basins and tall neck faucets sit atop the bathroom counter. In the shower, the theme has been extended. A rainfall shower head and wand gives the ultimate shower experience. A small water conservation commode is used, with controls on the wall. The master bathroom is designed using marble, glass, and track lighting. This soaking tub the place to be after a long day. Complete with a serving table it is placed on a marble platform that extends from the wall. The foyer uses cream, blue, and grey for doors and walls. A settee sits in the entrance of the home right below a full length mirror. Track lighting that can be self directed illuminates this galley hallway as you enter the living area. The walls hold storage areas to the left.
