Fox Corp. and News Corp. said Thursday that Murdoch would step aside as chairman of both companies, effective as of the annual meetings in November. Lachlan Murdoch will continue to lead the two companies. “On behalf of the Fox and News Corp boards of directors, leadership teams, and all the shareholders who have benefited from his hard work, I congratulate my father on his remarkable 70-year career,” said Lachlan Murdoch in a statement. Disney CEO Bob Iger, Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav, Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos and NBCUniversal Studio Group chairman and chief content officer Donna Langley were all present at the meeting. Later Wednesday, Steve Martin took to social media to announce that his and Martin Short’s You Won’t Believe What They Look Like Today! show, which was scheduled for Friday and Saturday, has been postponed due to COVID. Britney Spears' film Crossroads is set to be rereleased in cinemas. Crossroads will go up against Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, which opens on Oct. 13. Staying with Swift, the pop superstar finally revealed the titles of the bonus songs as well as the complete tracklist of her upcoming 1989 (Taylor’s Version) album.
