A prosecutor on Tuesday described rape allegations by three women against That ’70s Show actor Danny Masterson from two decades ago that contained some of the same disturbing elements. Masterson has pleaded not guilty to three counts of forcible rape between 2001 and 2003 at his Hollywood home, which functioned as a social hub when he was at the height of his fame. Judi Dench has slammed the upcoming season of Netflix’s The Crown, accusing the producers of the royal drama of blurring "the lines between historical accuracy and crude sensationalism." In a letter to The Times of London, Dench took particular issue with reports that season five will imply that the then Prince Charles plotted to oust his mother, the late Queen Elizabeth II, as monarch. The Book of Boba Fett actor has been cast as King Kahekili, the King of Maui. The Apple TV+ limited series represents a reunion between Momoa and Morrison, who previously worked together on Aquaman. The nine-episode series "follows the epic and unprecedented telling of the unification and colonization of Hawaii from an indigenous point of view." [The story.]( —🎭 More casting news 🎭 Pete Davidson’s Peacock comedy Bupkis is bringing in several big names as guest stars. Charlie Day, Brad Garrett, Kenan Thompson, Simon Rex, Chase Sui Wonders and Ray Romano will make appearances on the series. In addition to Davidson, who also writes and executive produces, the regular cast will feature Edie Falco as Pete’s mom and Joe Pesci as his grandfather. Ari Emanuel is encouraging businesses that work with Kanye “Ye” West to pull their involvement with him following the rapper’s antisemitic remarks. In an op-ed for the Financial Times, the Endeavor CEO wrote that West’s business partners, including companies that profit off his music — such as Apple, Spotify, Adidas and his touring partners — should stop working with the star. CBS Studios and Ridley Scott’s Scott Free Productions have teamed up for Resonant, on which McMurray will act as executive producer, writer and director. Canadian dramas were the big winners at the 2022 Diversify TV Awards, which honors excellence in diversity and inclusion in scripted and reality TV programming worldwide. Radio Canada's Pour toi Flora took the Diversify trophy for best scripted representation of race and ethnicity, while the CBC/HBO Max gender-fluid millennial dramedy Sort Of won the prize for best scripted representation of LGBTQ+. Netflix has ordered up a second season of its breakout Australian YA series Heartbreak High. Produced by Fremantle Australia and NewBe, the show's cast and creators will soon reassemble in Sydney for pre-production and filming. [The story.]( —🤝 First-look deal 🤝 Former CSI showrunner Carol Mendelsohn and producing partner Julie Weitz have signed a multi-year broadcast direct deal at Fox. Under the deal, Mendelsohn and Weitz will develop dramas for the broadcast network, with any projects greenlit from the deal becoming wholly owned by Fox Entertainment.
