Crash filmmaker Paul Haggis was detained on Sunday in the southern Italian town of Ostuni on charges of sexual assault and aggravated personal injury, according to multiple reports in the Italian media and a statement by the public prosecutors of the nearby city of Brindisi. A young woman has pressed charges against Haggis, accusing the two-time Oscar winner of forcing her to engage in sexual intercourse over the course of two days in Ostuni, where Haggis was scheduled to hold a series of master classes at the Allora Fest. Raymundo Garduño Cruz and Juan Francisco González, two actors on the Netflix series The Chosen One, were killed and six other cast or crew members were injured after the van they were riding in crashed near Mulege on the Baja California Sur peninsula, Mexico. Local media reported the crash occurred on June 16, and said the van flipped after running off the road in a desert area. In a surprise twist, Pixar/Disney’s Lightyear lost Father’s Day weekend to holdover Jurassic World Dominion at the domestic box office. Lightyear was expected to top the chart with a $70m to $85m opening. Instead, the Toy Story spinoff buzzed to a disappointing $51m from 4,255 theaters. THR's [Pamela McClintock]( writes that though Lightyear's opening was solid for the COVID-19 era, as well as the biggest opening of the pandemic for an animated family film, it was nevertheless a disappointment considering it carries the storied Pixar logo. Universal/Amblin’s Dominion stayed at No. 1 with $58.7m from 4,679 locations for a 10-day domestic tally of $247.8m and $622.2m globally. Top Gun: Maverick remained a formidable force in its fourth weekend. The dad-friendly film dropped a mere 15 percent to $44m for a domestic total of $466.2m as it flies for the $500m mark.
