A New Front In The Swift-Scooter Fight
âºTaylor Swift vs. Scooter Braun goes nuclear. The singer is once again speaking out against Big Machine Label Group founder Scott Borchetta and Scooter Braun, alleging that they are refusing to allow her to perform her old songs when she appears at the American Music Awards to receive the Artist of the Decade Award on Nov. 24. She also says the company is refusing to license her songs for a Netflix documentary in the works. Swift leveled the allegations in a Tweet Thursday evening.
Quote: "I feel very strongly that sharing what is happening to me could change the awareness level for other artists and potentially help them avoid a similar fate," Swift writes. "The message being sent to me is very clear. Basically, be a good little girl and shut up. Or you'll be punished." [The story](.
+Within an hour, "#IStandWithTaylor" was trending on Twitter, as Swift's open letter made its way across social media... Meanwhile: Taylor Swift fans also [launched an online petition]( against Scooter Braun and Scott Borchetta.
+In a statement published this morning, Borchetta's Big Label Machine Group wrote that "Taylor, the narrative you have created does not exist."
Quote: "At no point did we say Taylor could not perform on the AMAs or block her Netflix special. In fact, we do not have the right to keep her from performing live anywhere," the statement said. "The truth is, Taylor has admitted to contractually owing millions of dollars and multiple assets to our company, which is responsible for 120 hardworking employees who helped build her career."
âºBox office: Ford v Ferrari has the inside track on Charlie's Angels as both line up for this weekend's box office race, Pamela McClintock reports.
