Jeff Zucker 'Open' To Hiring Shepard Smith
âºJeff Zucker on Shep Smith and CNN's relationship to the Trump Administration: "We set out to be pro-truth." Jeremy Barr reports from the CNN Citizen conference in New York, where the CNN president said he is "open" to hiring former Fox News anchor Shepard Smith. "I think Shep's a great journalist," Zucker said Thursday afternoon. "When he's available, he is somebody who is very talented and I would be very open to talking to him."
--While he was high on Smith, Zucker did not feel the same way about other Fox News talent. He said Fox News is "not a journalistic organization," and told interviewer Brian Stelter that he does not see much a difference between its news and opinion arms. "There is no difference. I don't see it that way. I think you're wrong. … It's completely erroneous."
--Zucker also addressed the channel's icy relationship with the administration. "We're not looking for an antagonistic relationship at all," he said. "We don't set out to be pro-Trump. We don't set out to be anti-Trump. We set out to be pro-truth." [The report](.
