While we've been longtime fans of Rado's modern reinterpretation of the [Captain Cook Diver]( [here]( [here]( and [here]( for ample evidence), we think it's about time we got our hands on some of the brand's most quirky, most quintessentially-Rado creations to offer in our digital storefront. Two distinct families within that category fit the bill more than any other in the Rado catalog: The DiaStar Original and the Golden Horse 1957.   [Shop Rado](   [Read The Shop Journal](   SHOP RADO GOLDEN HORSE 1957 [Shop Rado](   "Complete with a dynamic smoked dial, vintage sizing, and a modern Swiss-made movement, Rado welcomes its original branded timepiece to the 21st century with this Special Edition." If you're just here for the watch model specs, feel free to scroll on at your leisure. While ostensibly part of the largest conglomerate in the watchmaking world – the Swatch Group – Rado has continuously centered its brand ethos around being both a pioneer of materials as well as being unafraid to lean into eccentricity. Rado's watchmaking history dates back to 1917 when the trio of Schlup brothers converted part of their parent's home in Lengnau, Switzerland, into a humble but mighty atelier. Rado, as we know it, was officially launched as a brand in its own right in the 1950s, taking its name from the word for "wheel" in the Esperanto language.   [Read The Shop Journal](     [( [( [( [Custom]( This email was sent to: {EMAIL} [Manage Preferences]( | [Unsubscribe from Hodinkee emails]( Hodinkee P.O.
