Trilobe takes modern, deconstructive architecture for inspiration, the qualities of which can be felt throughout the brand. The hours, minutes, and seconds are expressed on geared time-telling rings which each rotate counterclockwise and are always read at the top of each ring. The hours are indicated at the outer edge of the dial, where the trefoil shape points to the time. One can simply glance at this ring to get an immediate general reading of the time. Minutes are displayed via a ring which is displayed in the smaller aperture near 11 o'clock, with seconds turning on a yet smaller, fully exposed ring at 8 o'clock. Despite the novelty of this eccentric configuration, time telling is entirely intuitive.   [Shop Nuit Fantasique](   [Shop Les Matinaux](   Translating to “the mornings” in English, Trilobe’s Les Matinaux series is an homage to one of France’s most singular poets, René Char, taking its name from his most sweeping and celebratory collected works of the same title. This tradition-defying timepiece is itself a work of poetry in motion, from the unique dial layout to the sophisticated in-house movement. Trilobe's X-Centric caliber features micro-blasted, wedged bridges and plates, which are hand-engraved to achieve a fine gain effect in the brass and then electroplated for a striking black gold surface. The exquisitely finished exposed gear train components contrast against the dark bridges for a stunning visual effect.
