Taking inspiration from the landscape just outside the windows of the studio, Grand Seiko has created its latest update on its essential traveler’s Spring Drive GMT within the Sport Collection in a vibrant green color palette that calls upon the lush beauty of the Hotaka Mountains. Learn more in the [Hodinkee Shop](. [Explore The Grand Seiko 'Mt Hotaka Peaks'](   [Grand Seiko New Arrivals](   WHY WE LOVE IT The forest green dial is finished with a dynamic marbled pattern that evokes the face of the mountain during summertime and exemplifies the brand’s signature penchant for light and shadow in its designs. Encircling the dial is a 24-hour chapter ring that, along with the GMT hand and 24-hour bezel track, allows for the tracking of up to three time zones simultaneously. One of the most notable aspects of the SBGE295 is its unique two-tone bi-directional bezel. While the top half of the bezel is executed in a coordinating shade of green to match the dial, the bottom white section has been underlaid with the brand’s proprietary Lumibrite compound, which glows vibrantly in the dark. The large applied indices and hands have also received a Lumibrite finish, making for exceptionally legible reading – day or night. Sporting a 44mm diameter and a 14.7mm thickness, the stainless steel case on the SBGE295 features Grand Seiko’s quintessential Zaratsu finish, and thanks to the offset crown at four o’clock, this watch feels much slighter than its dimensions suggest. Equipped with Grand Seiko’s Spring Drive Caliber 9R66, this watch has a power reserve of 72 hours, an independently adjustable hour hand, and a fixed 24-hour GMT hand, as well as a power reserve indicator at the 8 o’clock position. Masterfully executed in both form and function, the SBGE295 is a fantastic option for pilots, frequent travelers, and modern-day adventurers of all kinds.
