We are excited to inform you that Porsche Design has introduced a brand new strap - the Mankei - to mark the opening of the Grossglockner High Alpine Road in Austria and GP's new destination for motorsport fans from around the world. All purchases of the watch will include the exclusive Mankei Strap in addition to a black automotive leather strap and a velcro strap. [Shop Now](   THE MANKEI STRAP As with the design of the chronograph itself, the GP team worked closely with the engineers at the Porsche watch manufactory in Solothurn, Switzerland on the design of the ‘Mankei strap’. The color scheme is a reference to the facade of the Mankei building, while the embossing of the coordinates on the inside of the strap reveals its precise location. Icons from the dashboards of current Porsche models are also featured: a mountain with a stylized road as a reference to the popular High Alpine Road, and a coffee cup, as the Mankei is a suitable spot to stop and take a break on the mountain. [Image of Porsche Design Chronograph 1 - GP 2023 Edition]( [Porsche Design Chronograph 1 - GP 2023 Edition]( WHY WE LOVE IT This is one of our very favorite chronograph dials due to how well it organizes information while maintaining such a cool look. All stop-watch functions are aligned vertically and indicated with the flash orange hands. The 30-minute totalizer at the top, the 12-hour totalizer at the bottom, and the central seconds hand are not only easy to read, but handsomely aligned vertically when the stopwatch isn't running. The rehaut (or outer flange) is marked to show 60 seconds with a mid-century numerical font reminiscent of the 1970s. There is ample black space there, too, which lends the watch an uncluttered visage befitting the seamlessness of the case.
