The last of the Lemania-based Patek Philippe Perpetual Chronos. Possibly the best watch Patek Philippe has ever made. John Mayer described it as "as good as it gets and … as good as it may ever get." And Wei Koh of Revolution claims the reference as "the single most beautiful classic wristwatch ever created." There is a lot of praise for the ref. 5970, sure. But why? The why is scattered around the watch world's internet: the importance of the movement, proportions on the dial, the case size, the American Courier Typewriter font – the list could go on. Patek heavily modified the Lemania movement to create the cal. 27-70 Q and it is widely thought to be the best of this base caliber ever created. It has the most satisfying winding through the crown and a distinct tactile click in the chronograph action.
