The high quality of this leather allows for a thinner strap that maintains its shape while retaining the firmness that’s expected from top-grain leather. The natural grain on the Gambier strap produces a tight and uniform pattern that lends a touch of subtle elegance to its overall appearance. Like the Gambier collection, the leather used in McBride straps are French enough to discuss Proust on a stroll along the Seine while sharing a baguette. In fact, the McBride collection uses the same top-grain French leather found in the Gambier collection, a leather so nice we had to use it twice. The difference between the two is that McBride straps are embossed with a small irregular pattern that adds some scratch resistance to the leather. This scratch resistance is why the same leather is used on some rather pricey French handbags.
