But the trick to imaging an analemma of the Moon is to wait bit longer. On average the Moon returns to the same position in the sky about 50 minutes and 29 seconds later each day. So photograph the Moon 50 minutes 29 seconds later on successive days. Over one lunation or lunar month it will trace out an analemma-like curve as the Moon's actual position wanders due to its tilted and elliptical orbit. To create this composite image of a lunar analemma, astronomer Gyorgy Soponyai chose a lunar month from March 26 to April 18 with a good stretch of weather and a site close to home near Mogyorod, Hungary." [Source.]()â ð° Rabbit's Gravity Every week I sit down for some period of time and cull together this newsletter. My honest hope is that this provokes some wonder in you and that it gives you some food for thought to chew on in the days ahead. We are already at the 82nd issue. That's hard to believe. As time has passed, it feels like these quotes, links, and resources find me as much as I find them. There's some kind of gravity to it. My attention has been trained to filter for cool and interesting things to share with you all. That is a very happy development. I love the ongoing discovery. It's like I'm wondering around the many forking paths and trails on the internet to find hidden gems deserving of more sunlight. This was not the case when I first started. The first few issues felt especially effortful because it was an unfamiliar process. And now I find myself much more easily accessing flow states as I weave these letters together. This highlights an important lesson for starting anything. You might have a project that you want to begin. Those first few iterations might feel like an uphill battle. It could be easy to take that as a negative sign. "This is much harder than I thought it would be." "Maybe I'm not cut out for this." "Should I try something else that feels more natural?" It's important to remember that it won't always be that way. You're building capacity. You're strengthening the muscles. This will enable you to perform the same tasks with much greater ease in the future. And not in the far distant future. In the near future. But only if you stick with it. Just a reminder for those seeds you are planting. Sometimes it takes some force for the seedling to bust through the soil. ð¤Invisible Friends Enjoy this magnificent quote from Jorge Luis Borges: âThe task of art is to transform what is continuously happening to us, to transform all these things into symbols, into music, into something which can last in manâs memory. That is our duty. If we donât fulfill it we feel unhappy. A writer or any artist has the sometimes joyful duty to transform all that into symbols. These symbols could be colors, forms or sounds. For a poet, the symbols are sounds and also words, fables, stories, poetry. The work of a poet never ends. It has nothing to do with working hours. You are continuously receiving things from the external world. These must be transformed and eventually will be transformed. This revelation can appear anytime. A poet never rests. Heâs always working even when he dreams. Besides, the life of a writer is a lonely one. You think you are alone as the years go by, if the stars are on your side, you may discover that you are at the center of a vast circle of invisible friends whom you will never get to know but whom love you. And that is an immense reward.â ð¤ Learn This Word Conviviality: the quality of being friendly and making people feel happy and welcome â³ From The Archives A hand-picked classic HighExistence article. â[Aldous Huxleyâs Prophetic Letter to George Orwell Regarding His Frightening Visions of The Future](â At the time when Aldous Huxley received George Orwellâs iconic book 1984, Huxleyâs eye-sight was already deteriorating quickly. But because he concerned himself with the monumental importance of the subject of the book, he took the arduous effort to finish it. What follows is an exploration of Huxleyâs thoughts on the haunting future envisioned in the totalitarian world of 1984. Huxley starts by praising Orwellâs vision of dystopia and the accuracy with which Orwell highlights the ruling eliteâs deep-rooted belief that they can and should control the entire human organism, their perception, thoughts, and feelings. Huxley believed when we can all become critical of these agendaâs we will have âthe Ultimate Revolution.â Yet, Huxley believed one single determining factor would in the end prove Orwell wrong: namely, efficiency. âThe policy of boot-on-the-face,â as Huxley called it, is wasteful. It takes too much energy to sustain itself. Because of Huxleyâs intimate knowledge of mind-altering drugs, psychological conditioning, and the sedating effects narcotics, he knew there was something far more powerful to manipulate the masses. And he was right. â[Continue Reading](â ð¡ Life As Play and Possibility The next issue of our premium newsletter [Stairway To Wisdom](=) is coming out on Friday and we'll be diving into Finite and Infinite Games by James Carse. =â Here's just a taste of what's inside this book: "Infected then by the genius of the artist they recover their own genius, becoming beginners with nothing but possibility ahead of them. If the goal of finite play is to win titles for their timelessness, and thus eternal life for oneself, the essence of infinite play is the paradoxical engagement with temporality that Meister Eckhart called 'eternal birth.'"
