He's traveling astonishingly fast, at 75km per second. If the clouds get out of the way, then anytime between the 4th and 10th will probably be your best bet to see this Christmas visitor." ð§ The Pursuit of Wisdom While in college a friend told me he didn't think chasing happiness was the point. I asked him what then? He said... "Wisdom." He was right. Happiness is one particular state of emotional weather patterns. Wisdom is knowing how to embrace the storms, seeing the beauty in the blizzard, and not wishing away the rain because we know it's nourishing. Trying to freeze your emotional state into happiness is like trying to lasso a cloud. It's not going to work and the whole enterprise distracts from enjoying the shade. Wisdom is escaping from the notion that we should only experience positive emotions and negative emotions should be shunned. The other side of the emotional spectrum is fertile ground for so much richness. Grief and sadness point us to what matters. Anger points us to what must be done. Embrace the totality of your being. Allow your full humanity. Let happiness arise and emerge. Don't chase it when it drifts or you'll find it fades even faster. Simply welcome the emotional weather patterns with open arms and you can find the peace that lives beyond the need to chronically seek change. That's wisdom. ð¦ Leap of Faith Find inspiration in these quotes about the power of courage and what happens when we take a leap of faith: âNature loves courage. You make the commitment and nature will respond to that commitment by removing impossible obstacles. Dream the impossible dream and the world will not grind you under, it will lift you up. This is the trick. This is what all these teachers and philosophers who really counted, who really touched the alchemical gold, this is what they understood. This is the shamanic dance in the waterfall. This is how magic is done. By hurling yourself into the abyss and discovering it's a feather bed.â - Terrence Mckenna âConcerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in oneâs favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way. Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. Begin it now.â -William Hutchinson Murray ð¤ Learn This Word Scenius: The ability, intuition and creative intelligence of a community, group, society or organization to create what the collective group of people aspire, choose and produce a variety of just, positive and empowering outcomes that are inclusive and meet the choices of all within that community, group, society or organization which are naturally prioritized effectively and efficiently in order of optimum health, human rights, right to life, animal rights and shared prosperity for all. â³ From The Archives A hand-picked classic HighExistence article. â[12 Practical Steps To Go With The Flow](â No matter how much structure we create in our lives, no matter how many good habits we build, there will always be things that we cannot control â and if we let them, these things can be a huge source of anger, frustration and stress. The simple solution: learn to go with the flow. âSmile, breathe and go slowly.â â Thich Nhat Hanh For example, letâs say youâve created the perfect peaceful morning routine. Youâve structured your mornings so that you do things that bring you calm and happiness. And then a water pipe bursts in your bathroom and you spend a stressful morning trying to clean up the mess and get the pipe fixed. You get angry. You are disappointed, because you didnât get to do your morning routine. You are stressed from all these changes to what youâre used to. It ruins your day because you are frustrated for the rest of the day. Not the best way to handle things, is it? And yet if we are honest, most of us have problems like this, with things that disrupt how we like things, with people who change what we are used to, with life when it doesnât go the way we want it to go. Go with the flow. What is going with the flow? Itâs rolling with the punches. Itâs accepting change without getting angry or frustrated. Itâs taking what life gives you, rather than trying to mold life to be exactly as you want it to be. âFlow with whatever is happening and let your mind be free. Stay centered by accepting whatever you are doing. This is the ultimate.â â Chuang Tzu This is my attempt to share some of the things that work for me.
