Time will always be more valuable than money. An old and dying man with a large bank account, a mansion, and many profitable businesses would trade it all to be 25 again and in debt. Consider this... 1 million seconds is 11 days. 1 billion seconds is 31 years. If you're younger than 47 and you expect to live to the average life expectancy of ~78 years... That makes you a Time Billionaire. This is a notion I picked up from Graham Duncan. It helps properly frame the true value of time. Rather than something to take for granted, it's seen as something of immense value. People so often race through life with their heads down trying to acquire riches. But are they spending their wealth of time properly? Are they properly soaking up life? Have they ever intentionally stood in the rain? Can they properly appreciate the beauty of a flower? Of course, it's okay to use our time to earn money but if money becomes our reason for living then we have lost sight of what matters. We end up caring more about how we spend our money than how we spend our time. You want to build a legacy? Fine. Build one. But never forget the importance of your presence in the lives of those you love. Thatâs how the most valuable inheritance is made: the memories left in their hearts after youâre gone. No amount of prestige or riches could mean more than love felt and time spent. So how will you spend your billions? ð True Joy Enjoy these beautiful words from George Bernard Shaw âThis is the true joy in life, being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one. Being a force of nature instead of a feverish, selfish little clod of ailments and grievances, complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy. I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community and as long as I live, it is my privilege to do for it what I can. I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work, the more I live. I rejoice in life for its own sake. Life is no brief candle to me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got hold of for the moment and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations.â ð¤ Learn This Word Sophrosyne: "An ancient Greek concept of an ideal of excellence of character and soundness of mind, which when combined in one well-balanced individual leads to other qualities, such as temperance, moderation, prudence, purity, decorum, and self-control." â³ From The Archives A hand-picked classic HighExistence article â[Your Personal Detox Day]()â "Today, I invite you to partake in a Personal Detox Day and take back control of your life.
