Fellow Conservative, We are seven months into a new term and Congress has yet to vote on major policy reforms. With control of the White House and Congress, what could possibly be standing in the way of making radical improvements to health care, tax reform, and national security? The answer is the Republican Establishment. The biggest obstacle that Republicans face comes from within their own party, in the form of inflexible moderates who want nothing more than the status quo. This is a problem but it’s not insurmountable. Working to get past this interference will take creativity and ingenuity, something Heritage scholars and researchers can provide in drafting policy that not only advances the conservative principles you and I share, but gets past the Establishment as well. Only with your help can our team at Heritage continue to create sound conservative policy that is strong enough to navigate the choppy waters of congressional divisiveness we are seeing today. Will you give to the work The Heritage Foundation is doing to advance the principles that you believe in? [When you donate](, the Heritage Board of Trustees will match your gift, as long as it’s received before midnight August 15. The Trustees have made this matching pledge now because they realize the urgency of getting change implemented before liberals claw back seats in Congress and block any chance of it. [Please give a generous gift today to the work of the Heritage Foundation](. Your gift will have twice the impact thanks to the matching funds from our Trustees. Here is the link to donate: [( I remain optimistic that our nation’s leaders can and will make advances toward conservative policies, thanks to help from friends like you.
