The Supreme Court of the United States is poised to strike down Roe v. Wade this summer, according to a draft opinion leaked last night. Dear {NAME}, The Supreme Court of the United States is poised to strike down Roe v. Wade this summer, according to a draft opinion leaked last night. If the opinion holds, the Supreme Court will upend 50 years of precedent with a devastating, radical reversal of a woman’s fundamental right of autonomy over her body and health. And if the reports are true, the Supreme Court will undermine the very basis of our constitutional privacy which is central to individual freedom. Elections matter, my friends. It matters whether Mitch McConnell is the Senate Majority Leader or the Senate Minority Leader. It matters whether Kevin McCarthy is the Speaker of the House or the House Minority Leader. And it certainly matters whether radical, right-wing extremists like Andy Harris represent the First District in Congress. From Ocean City to Bel Air, from Pocomoke to Elkton, it is no longer good enough to “do our best and see how close we can get” to defeating Andy Harris. It is no longer good enough to nominate Democratic challengers who don’t have a chance of winning in November. We have to do better. Because anybody who believes that these extremists in Washington will actually stop with overturning Roe v Wade, just hasn’t been paying attention. Andy Harris and the radical right are coming for many of your basic rights. I am a leader who can actually win in this moderate-conservative district. I’ve served my country in the most dangerous places on earth and I know when to go to battle and when to negotiate. This is a time to go to battle. As your next member of Congress, I will fight like hell to protect reproductive rights by codifying the Women's Health Protection Act into federal law. I will also stand up against those who seek to roll back our fundamental right to privacy. If we are going to defeat Andy Harris this November, I need your help now. The battle begins. [Please, join me in this fight and help stop Republicans in their tracks before it's too late.]( Thank you so much, Dave Dave Harden is a Democrat running for Maryland's 1st Congressional District.
