I’m a proud American, a life-long Marylander, and a U.S. Army veteran, and I support Dave Harden for Congress. A jagged, rusty shard of shrapnel sits on the corner of my desk. Recovered from the sands of Kuwait after the First Gulf War, it’s a constant reminder of the violent cost of battle on foreign shores. I support a strong military, and I believe there’s such a thing as a just war. But I also know the best war is the one we never have to fight. And that’s where Dave comes in. Dave spent 17 years representing the United States around the world. Everywhere he went, he showed what’s best about our great nation. Building schools and digging wells in places that are hotter than the hinges of Hades, Dave was a living symbol of American leadership, enterprise, idealism, and generosity of spirit. Every time his work boots hit the ground, he made it less likely that U.S. combat boots would have to hit that same ground. For that, I thank him, and I’d like to see him in Congress representing the First District, Maryland, and the United States of America.
