Our policy team graded it. Here are our comments: - This blatant distortion of facts was paid for, in whole, by the American Taxpayer. (Funny that he talks about out-of-control government spending) - Andy Harris, according to constituents, does not return phone calls - Harris voted to raise the social security retirement age 70, depriving Americans of their benefits - Harris led efforts to partially privatize Medicare. - He voted for a budget that would turn Medicare into a Voucher program, then voted no on the Amendment that would protect Medicare - He voted no on capping out of pocket spending on Medicare Part D plans which would have paid for Medicare hearing, vision, and dental - He voted to block the Medicare and Social Security trust funds from paying benefits to providers - He earned a 0% scorecard from The National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare. - Annually, The Alliance for Retired Americans gives him a 0% score on protecting seniors. - The trillion dollar bills he champions voting down on included a COVID Relief bill and the infrastructure package, both of which were bipartisan and both of which are vital necessities. - “Across the board, we found almost no effect of government spending on inflation.”– Bill Duport, St. Louis Federal Reserve Board. - So Andy’s one-dimensional view of economics is that we should not fix the problems of society and then we should blame the people who do for causing the price of milk to go up even though that is not supported by the evidence. Andy Harris is preying on vulnerable populations with a series of lies and misdirects because he knows he is in a tight re-election race. This postcard is a textbook example of political double-speak. He knows seniors are the most politically active group of Americans and his plan is simple: to mislead them into voting for him. We, at the Harden team, are appalled by this blatant attempt at instilling fear into the hearts of our parents and grandparents. Andy Harris’ Machiavellian attempts to stay in power are as transparent as they are laughable. For this, we give him the respectable grade of an F-. Welcome to retirement Andy.
